On Deck

Our “Learning Center” for Five Guidelines instruction, and support for students and teachers.

The Resource Response Center’s purpose is to provide support to students and teachers when students violate one of the Five Guidelines. The use of Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) for students placed on Tiers 1, 2, and 3, will be major tools used to influence and improve student behavior.

As always, the first step when a behavioral incident occurs is for the teacher to intervene using his or her standard behavioral management strategies. If that fails, the teacher should call RRC at 260, 261, or 262. RRC will always try to have someone there to answer the phones. RRC will respond by sending a person, or persons, to the classroom or site of the Guideline infraction. Level 2 interventions are implemented to allow the learning process to continue in the classroom. The student may be removed from the classroom. If that happens, he or she will be escorted to RRC. The parent or guardian will be contacted by the students and RRC personnel or Administration. A 5-day Plan will be written, reviewed, and implemented to restore student learning. Grades 7-10 will review their Peer Review Protocol Plans with their Morning Meeting Peer Group. Grades 11 and 12 will review their plans with their advisor. The response for Tier 3 referrals will be direct intervention with Administration and RRC personnel.
