Community Opportunities

The Agency of Education has partnered with UP for Learning, a Vermont-based educational nonprofit, to ensure student voices are at the heart of discussions about statewide graduation requirements. This initiative recognizes that student input is essential in shaping a vision for how best to prepare all learners for life beyond K–12 education.

How You Can Get Involved

This project offers three ways for students to share their insights and experiences:

  • In-person focus groups – Currently scheduled at locations across Vermont.
  • Virtual focus group – Join the conversation online on April 16th at 1:00 PM.
  • Student survey – Open from April 6th to April 17th.

There has been tremendous interest in hosting student focus groups, and UP for Learning has worked with the AOE to include Career and Technical Education centers and high schools of all sizes from every corner of the state.

We encourage you to share these opportunities with students in your district so they can participate through the survey or virtual focus group. For more details, including relevant links, please visit the provided resources.

Let’s make sure every student’s perspective is heard!
