Who Are We? 

Formed in 2010, we are a group of parents, teachers, and administrators who support communication, family interaction and academics at VUHS

 

Mission Statement 

The CPTG mission is to encourage and support academic and enrichment programs, promote family involvement in the school, and enhance communication between families, students, teachers, administrators, and community members.

 

Since 2012, over $25,000 has been raised by the CPTG to support
activities including:

  • CPTG Enrichment Grant Program – awarded to support requests by teachers and staff. Here are just a few examples:

Guest Speakers | Artists in Residence | MS MathCounts Team
T-Shirts for Academic Clubs such as HS Math Team
V-RED and Queer Straight Alliance | Middle School Chili Cook-Offs
Mock DUI Crash | Walden-Ethiopian Teacher Exchange
Taiko Drummers | Social Studies Photo Project
Environmental Club Compost Project
 

  • Staff and Teacher Appreciation events throughout the year – snacks, brunches, lunches, chair massages, raffles of prizes and facilitating notes of appreciation from students
     
  • Annual educational outreach events such as:
    • Presentation of the movie “Screenagers” and student/community
      discussion
    • SAT BootCamp
    • Facilitated discussions for parents and students regarding healthy
      relationships, physical & emotional intimacy, and talking with
      teenagers about topics like sex
  • Annual donation to Project Graduation
  • Partially funding the new electronic sign for school
  • Providing refreshments for parent/teacher conference
