The Communicating School Redesign (CSR) group is comprised of students and faculty that are working to build public understanding and support for student-empowered education. This week they are seeking input from students about their school and community. Students and adults are being asked to discuss in morning meeting and be on the lookout for a banner that says “I dream of a school…” There will be markers attached to the banner for students to add their thoughts, ideas, and dreams that help finish the sentence. The banner will be in different parts of the school starting on Tuesday. Thank you, The CSR group
We are always working on ways to improve what we are doing. The Communicating School Redesign group is another way to seek input and make positive change at VUHS. We look forward to seeing and hearing what students write and say about their dreams for our school and community.
Thank you to all of our veterans everyday, but most especially today as we specifically recognize their dedication and sacrifice for our country on Veteran’s Day.

Many families have turned in their school meals application, but some haven't. We want to make sure that all students are able to eat school meals. Much of our grant money for various programs in the school and/or district is dependent on having an accurate count of those eligible for free/reduced meals. If you haven't filled out an application or you did and now your circumstances have changed, please complete one.
You can find more information by going to the VUHS website and clicking on "Services", then "ANWSD Food Services Cooperative" or by clicking here. You'll see a link to "School Meals" on the left side of the page. You can also access the application here.
If you need help filling out the application, please let Jay ([email protected]) know. We can figure out a time for you to stop by school.
Are you wondering why there are new signs up around the school relating to icy conditions? Check out this link for more information.

The Booster Club is looking for a parent volunteer from each elementary school (Vergennes, Addison, and Ferrisburgh) to join our club as a member-at-large. We need more people to create fundraising committees and bring new ideas to our group! We meet the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 7-8 p.m. If you are interested, please contact me ([email protected]). Thanks! - Kirsten De La Cruz, Booster Club President
It's that time of year when we sell poinsettias to help fundraise for our band/choral program. Poinsettias come in a 6.5” pot with foil and are Vermont grown at Claussen’s Florist & Greenhouse. The cost is $15.00. Orders must be placed by November 29th and picked up at Commodore-Breakfast With Santa on Saturday, December 7, 2019, between 8am-10am. Place your order in the lobby during the intermission of the musical, contact a VUHS student, or email us at [email protected]. Your support of the VUHS music department students is greatly appreciated! Each sale raises $6.75!
Interested in skiing or snowboarding on five Thursday evenings this winter (December 12 & 19, January 9, 16, 23)? The cost is on the registration form and depends on what you need. Everyone has to pay for the transportation fee. If you haven’t skied or snowboarded previously, there are lessons and rentals available. Leasing gear for the season is a great option. There are a few scholarships available if paying for this opportunity is preventing you from participating. You can pick up registration and/or rental forms in the school counseling office or print them by going to these links (Registration - Rental - Lease Package Info). Please contact Jay with any questions by emailing him at [email protected].
