Meet some of our wonderful new staff!
Ashlee has been supporting students in some capacity for the past 16 years, with 7 of those years as a school counselor right here at VUHS! She loves to spend time with her family, go on walks with her friends, cook and eat good meals, watch Korean television, craft, travel, listen to music, and snuggle her pets. She is most excited to learn more about her students and to create opportunities to create community and increase engagement!
My name is Meghan Fahey, and I am thrilled to join the Vergennes Middle and High School team as a Special Educator and Co-Coordinator for the WLC. I look forward to working closely with our students, families, and staff to support every learner in reaching their full potential. One thing I am especially looking forward to this year at VUMHS is getting to know the students and becoming an active part of this wonderfully supportive school community! -And walking around town with my dog Izzy!
Hi I'm Mr. Bronson and I live in Monkton, Vermont. I love gardening, golfing, hunting, backcountry skiing, and mountain biking. Part time, I work for Ralph Myre's Golf maintenance team. I'm happy to be part of the Vergennes school community because I enjoy working with all types of learners and making them successful.
Hi there, I’m Lina, a school-based clinician and I love playing board games and puzzles. I am looking forward to spooky season and am super excited to make connections with and help support our students!
My name is Katja Astrauskas, (Frau A), and I am joining VUHS as your German teacher! This year I am looking forward to building relationships with all of my students and continuing our vibrant German program at VUHS. I can't wait to share my experiences living and traveling in the German-speaking world, and hope to empower my students to take similar journeys. Outside of school, I love to ski, hike, run, and knit!
I am a dedicated special education professional with over a decade of experience across elementary, middle, and high school settings. I have served as a Special Education Team Lead and contributed to district-level growth as a member of the Special Education Development Committee. I hold a Master's degree in Special Education from the University of Vermont, with additional training in Orton-Gillingham (OG), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Behavior Management.
Beyond the classroom, I have a deep commitment to student well-being and inclusion as a Special Olympics coach in soccer and bocce, leading athletes to gold medal victories. I have also led multiple Wellness and Learner Centers (WLCs), reflecting my holistic approach to student support and my dedication to collaborative, student-centered practice. I am looking forward to working with unified teams here at VUHS this year.
I live in Monkton with my wife and son. My Son is in his final year at VTSU Randolph studying Vet Sciences.
