  1. The velocity of a ball thrown vertically upward is given by v(t) = -32t +48, where t is the time in seconds and v is the velocity in feet per second.

  1. Find the velocity when t = 1.
  2. Find the time when the ball reaches its maximum height.
  3. Find the velocity when t=2.


2. Jeremy is 2.5 miles from the launch pad of a space shuttle launch.  He measures the angle of elevation to the base of the vehicle to be 28 degrees soon after lift-off.  How high is the shuttle at that instant?
