James Wakefield Rescue Row Results
Competing in the James Wakefield Rescue Row Saturday at the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum, the VUHS Rowing Team once again proved why they are the best high school rowing team in New England. With the depth of this year’s team Vergennes was able to enter 8 teams in the various rowing divisions. With a blistering time of 21 minutes and 36 seconds the VUHS team consisting of Bethany Delgadillo, Brianna Vanderwey, Devon Coleman, Judith Dunne, Courtney Morin , Ashley DeSmitt and Dylan Rapoport captured First place in the Intermediate Division.
In the Experieced Division the team of captain Eva Kamman, Reggie Grady, Camden Dieterle, Malcolm Donovon-Cook and twins Jacob and Nick LaFleche and Marin Howell finished an extremely close second place missing the top spot by four seconds. Rounding out the top 3 places in the Experienced Division was the VUHS group team consisting of, Aidan Gardner, twins Zeke and Mitch Clark, Trudy Cosgrove, Nathan DeVos, Holden Clark and Mike Davis finished third.
In the Novice Division Vergennes had 5 teams enter which finished 1st, 2-seconds, 9th &10.
The team of Troy Provencher, Mike Davis, Jackson Hameline, Raymond Vanderwey, and Robert Verburg captured first in the Novice 4 Oar Division.
Vergennes Team #5 members Zander Wilderson, Dakota Kandzior, Joshua Ramon, Chris Bolduc, Josh Delgadillo and Jack Chaput rowing to a most impressive First Place with a time of 21 minutes and 23 seconds in the Novice Six Oar Division.
Rounding out the day the crew of Addie Brooks, Karyn Kenfield, Emily Brickman, Olivia Brooks and Ryleigh Dieterle captured second place in the 4 Oar Division Team.
