Students are required to take 4 English credits.  Freshman English and American Literature (Grade 10) are required for all students.  Both build skills in the critical reading of major works, in responding to literary and informational texts, and in developing an effective personal writing process. 11th and 12th grade courses can generally be taken in any order.
