After-School Programs

K9 Kare Packages a big hit! The KEYS after school program K9 Kare packages has made 12 dog beds and over 20 crate pads that were donated to All Breed Rescue in South Burlington.  Mia Troy-Vowell stopped by to say thanks and brought her friend Daisy!

Sign Up Today for Creative Outdoor Summer Camps in Monkton at the Willowell Foundation

The Willowell Foundation (www.willowell.org) is proud to present an outstanding line-up of summer camps in 2012 for kids ages 7-18, all hosted on our land in Monkton, VT.  This year at Willowell, anything you can do inside, you can do better outside:  Direct a theater production.  Create a nature mural.  Learn to move with the skill of a Jedi. Sign up today for Art in the Forest, Jedi Training Camp, Acting on the Land, Boys' Coming of Age and Empowerment Camp, and Coyote Clan Wilderness Adventure Camp (formerly "Adventure Camp").

Summer Adventures in Learning
Registration forms were mailed out last week. Early Bird registration runs until April 15th. Sign up now for the best activity selection. SAIL runs June 18th - June 29th and July 9th -July 20th. Each day begins at 8:30 and runs until 1:00 pm. Great activities include robotics, stained glass, Acting Out and a host of other science, math and technology classes. Free breakfast, lunch and a ride home are provided. All activities are free to all students. Bixby Memorial Library
The Otter Creek Room used book sale, located downstairs, access in the back of the library, will reopen for the season on April 30. 
Hours: 12:30 to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM Saturday. Evening hours on the 1st, 3rd and 4th Mondays 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
Book prices: hard covers $2.00; large paperbacks $1.00; small paperbacks $.50; ALL children's books $.25.

Summer Kayaking Program

Champlain Discovery is a co-educational, five week summer program for students age 13-16. Participants spend 3 weeks, five days a week at the Maritime Museum building their own 17’ sea kayak and learning paddling skills. They then embark on an 11-day adventure of a lifetime, paddling from Whitehall, New York to Burlington, Vermont on Lake Champlain. Scholarships are available based on income. Adventure Camp

Parents, it may seem early, but summer isn’t that far off. If your child is looking for some adventure, this is the summer camp to sign up for.

Open to kids going into grades 5-8, the camp will run the week of June 18th to June 22nd from 9 am to noon at the Vergennes High School ropes course.

Come experience games, low rope activities, and some high elements as well.
