The main goal of Driver Education is to enable our students to minimize the element that contributes to all car crashes: Risk. Most students will drive with their own license throughout their adult lives and this puts them in danger of the number one cause of death in the United States: car crashes. Driver Education enables students to obtain the knowledge to minimize the chances of crashing. Program objectives are not limited to training students to drive, they are also to educate students to learn valuable information to make positive decisions about driving. In addition it is a goal to enhance curriculum and contribute to district and school wide initiatives, such as those in technology and writing. It is our is our responsibility as teachers, parents, and community members to role model good driving habits and choices. It is our students' responsibility to practice what they learn and continue to drive safely, even when driving with a license of their own. |
